At Kids Are Fantastic Afterschool, we believe that every student has the potential to succeed. We strive to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that empowers students to reach their full potential and achieve their goals.
Our afterschool literacy program for Pre-K to 5th grade offers engaging and age-appropriate activities to foster a love for reading and writing. Through interactive storytelling, creative writing exercises, and hands-on projects, children develop essential literacy skills while having fun. Our program is designed to enhance vocabulary, comprehension, and critical thinking, providing a supportive environment where young learners can explore their interests and build a strong foundation for future academic success.
Through our STEAM curriculum, students learn to question, imagine, test, observe, collaborate, and explain their findings in all activities. These skills are crucial as children experiment and investigate issues relevant to the world around them through hands-on learning opportunities. Students may also participate in the annual STEAM Day Fair introducing students to the many and varying jobs in the related fields. The newly developed STEAM day highlights drone technology, as well as the language of coding and applications used to program and guide them.
.Social and emotional learning (SEL) is an integral part of education and human development. SEL is the process through which all young people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions
We are thrilled to have this cultural and artistic experience that encourages self reflection and discovery in students as they explore New York’s diverse performing arts culture and create stories that reflect their unique experiences living in the city.
Throughout the program, students will engage in a variety of creative Theater activities such as pantomime, Improvisational acting, monologues, poetry, and much more.
Discover the world of creativity and self-expression through our engaging Visual Arts class for students in grades Pre K to 5. This dynamic and age-appropriate program is designed to foster a love for art and help young minds explore their imagination. Students will learn fundamental art techniques, experiment with various materials, and create their own masterpieces. Our curriculum covers a wide range of art forms, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and crafts, all while encouraging individuality and artistic growth. With an emphasis on fun and hands-on learning, this class aims to inspire young artists and build their confidence as they embark on a colorful artistic journey
